Toshiba Laptop Touchpad Double Click Not Working Windows 7

May 26, 2018  the touchpad's click of my toshiba laptop windows 7 is not working. My touchpad's click suddenly stopped working. I am managing with the two click keys provided. But not the touchpad's click.

1.Turn on the computer and log into Windows as normal. Open the 'Start' menu and click on the option labeled 'Control Panel.' 2.Double-click on the icon labeled 'Mouse.' The 'Mouse Properties' window will open. Navigate to the tab labeled 'Device Settings.' Click on the button labeled 'Settings.'

Click on the option labeled 'Touch Sensitivity.' 4.Reduce the touch sensitivity setting by moving the slider to the right, towards the 'Heavy Touch' label. Experiment with different levels of sensitivity until you find one suited to your needs. 5.Click on the button labeled 'OK' to close the 'Properties' window; repeat with the 'Mouse' control panel. Your new touchpad sensitivity settings are now saved.

Here is what I did to get the touchpad to start working again. My laptop is Gateway and a couple years old, running Windows Vista. Start>Control Panel 2.

Double-click on Mouse icon (or button, depending on how you're systems set up). When a the Mouse Properties window pops up, choose the Device Settings tab. Click on the Settings. A new window pops up and on the right side there is a list of options - choose Tapping. Once clicked, there is a check box that allows you to Enable Tapping. Click OK to close out your windows and the tapping option should be enabled on your touchpad. Hopefully this helps.

Click the Device Select tab and check 'Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present.' The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad. Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the 'Disable Device' in the Touch Pad setting.

Advanced users can disable the touchpad from the BIOS setup [press F2 when the computer is booting to enter BIOS settings] For extra USB ports, purchase a USB hub($15 -$20). That way you can add at least 4 USB ports to your laptop. If I could be of further assistance, let me know.

I've been frustrated with this occasional problem for six years on a Dell Inspiron N7110. Nusphere Phped Professional V5.9.5985 Keygen. Temporary fix was always go into Control Panel >Mouse and play with the touchpad options until finally something changed to make single-clicking a reality again. This happened about every 3 months, until recently when it went to every week. So I got the nerve to Uninstall the mouse driver (but NOT DELETE the mouse driver SOFTWARE!). Twice now, this worked (out of two times). Rebooting TWICE is part of the process (in Windows 7), but I just do something else. At least I know (believe) that this is going to work and I won't have to waste my time playing with the touchpad options.

(Of course, I looked for [and so did Windows] an updated driver. I have latest version.]).
