I was aware that a support program existed for earlier OS'es but I have never seen it personally. I think that it is abominable on the part of HP and others NOT to offer support programs for their older printers especially as some of them are not THAT old.

I grew up believing that HP printers lasted quite well, and I take exception when the manufacturer fails to produce something as simple as a support program. I recognise that HP want us to buy new stuff, and in doing so, enable them to remain profitable, but there are limits.
